What is the greatest painting in the UK?

That is a difficult question to answer isn’t it but according to Jonathan Jones In the Guardian it is Rembrandt’s self portrait which is going on display again at Kenwood House in North London when it reopens at the end of the month. The painting was lent to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York while repairs and restoration took place at Kenwood.
