Liverpool’s Cenotaph

It is especially poignant today on Remembrance Sunday that I’ve just read that the Cenotaph outside St George’s hall here in Liverpool that I wrote a report on earlier in this course is being upgraded to Grade-1 listed status. It will be one of only three war memorials in England including the Cenotaph in London with that status. The culture secretary said it was of “great historic significance” and English Heritage said it was a “painfully poignant memorial”
